Ellen Drake was the sister of my GGGrandmother, Josie (or Josse) Drake, who married Berry Raper. At one point one of Ellen's sons, Dutch, lived on Shooting Creek adn was friends with my Grandother Ledford (his cousin.) Ellen's parents were John. H. Drake and Amanda Elizabeth Rowland (daughter of Bill Rowland and either Jesse Clampitt or Jane Fouts, not yet sure.) John H. died during the Civil War at age 28 in Cumberland Gap of disease (supposedly measles) in Johnson County, TN. Elizabeth Amanda was pregnant at the time and eventually that baby died, leaving her with three children to raise--William, Ellen and Josse--as she never remarried and died around 1920 in Macon Co. She and Josse, who died at age 32, are buried in the cemetery in Aquone/Nantahala--I don't know the name of it. Ellen was born March 3, 1859-and died in August 20, 1929. Hope this helps you.
