Surnames: JOHNSON, LOVE, FERRELL, JORDAN
Who was the father of the SAMUEL JOHNSON who was bondsman for the marriage of Sarah W(?) JOHNSON and JOHN A LOVE (Dec 26, 1841 in JOHNSTON CO. The couple lived in HARNETT CO after the wedding).

Along those same lines, was this SARAH W JOHNSON the widow of an AMOS JOHNSON at the time she wed John?

When I first began my husband's family's history, I found many mistakes in the published genealogies - supposedly done by professional genealogists. I don't fault them, THEY used the recognized tool kit and considered things like names, proximity,... Trouble I found was by the mid 1700s there were multiple folks named the same thing, close in age, living very close to one another.

I turned to DNA to help me sort out the YOUNG, JORDAN, PARRISH, ADAMS, PARTIN, DUPREE, SMITH, JOHNSON... DNA is truly helping BUT I have to admit it is only as good as the amount of participation AND there are many JOHNSTONS and JOHNSONs of this region who have NOT established their branches.

I NEED HELP. I would like to connect to any of the JOHNSONs of this region so I can properly put the folks in the right families. Using DNA and GIS mapping it is easy to get folks in the right families. Right now our Great Uncle Carl Curtiss Jordan is showing our branch connects to a LOT of JOHNSONS in our region. I have DNA for three generations submitted through familytreedna.com and I need JOHNSONS to participate so we can all see who truly is kin and why. For me, I have connections with a few in the area who claim JOHNSON ancestors but none are matching correctly. I can't make the JOHNSONs some kits claim work among themselves much less work with Uncle Carl's kit! I believe the AMOS JOHNSONS and this SAMUEL may hold the keys. BUT I need some JOHNSONS who actually are these lines to work with me. I check every week for new family finder kits (familytreedna.com is where most of my kits are. I have one kit for hubby through Ancestry) for folks who still live in the region, like us as well as those who pushed off to other states.

I have been at this for three years now. I am still stuck - was Sarah Sallie W? (I believe could be a M?)Johnson who married in 1841 to John Love a JOHNSON by birth? There was a Sarah who lived next door in the 1840 census to a Samuel and it appears she has children. Our Sarah was older when she wed John Love. It makes sense she could have been a widow?

I have one other JOHNSON knot - a lady by the name of Frances (Fannie) Ferrell married first a NICHOLAS JORDAN JR. When Nick died she wed JOHN BAUCOM JR. When he died she married RIGDON JOHNSON. There were several Rigdons. Does anyone know - have the actual family records, know where these fellas owned land. Have separated these Ridgons? I believe Fannie was a second wife for Rigdon, who was his first? Anyone of the Johnsons have knowledge of Fannie Ferrell Baucom Johnson? So often I find where Fannie is not recorded right. Maybe some local Johnsons or Jordans of Wake/Harnett/Johnston know of the Nicholas Jordans? I am stuck with our MATTHEW JORDAN who was born around 1760-1770 and died in Johnston in 1849, last lived most likely with daughter Rebecca Jordan Barber and her hubby Young Barber. I am trying to find anyone who comes through either of the Nicholas Jordan's lines to help me understand what JG tree he belongs and if he is related to our Matthew. I believe the JOHNSON family of this region are closely intertwined with our direct family but try as I might I am stuck! I need help.

I hope someone who is researching these same families will help me. Please send me a message through Ancestry's internal message system. Or if you have any family BIBLES or records please share them. The courthouses all burned or had some records vanish.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide!
