I have been doing some research for Ryanne on her Pittman family and we have made connections for the Pittman side back to Thomas I. However, we are having some difficulty finding Ruth Alene Phillips. Here is what we have: Ruth was born Oct. 14 1929 in Micro, Johnston Co. NC. In one record, it shows her parents as H. W. Phillips and Stella Garner; in another it shows only the mother, Stella Garner. What's funny is we have seen other birth records showing that Stella had other children, by what appears to be other men. I cannot find census records for 1930 showing Ruth in the home of a Phillips, with mother as first name Stella. Can anyone unravel this mystery?
