Do any of you know where to point me regarding Joshua M. SMITH found on the 1830 census of Iredell County, North Carolina? I am interested in finding his parents and who he married or anything pointing to him.

I believe he removed to Haywood and Lauderdale Counties in Tennessee according to 1840 and 1850 census records.

Census records also indicate that he was born in NC about 1808. I see some who are researching SMITH families. SO, I would love to find some clue about Joshua.

His children born in NC before moving to TN are; John Sidney SMITH, Euphemia Emeline SMITH, and Matilda A. SMITH, all born before 1839. He has more children born in TN: William H. SMITH, Sarah Green SMITH, Lewis C. SMITH and James K. P. SMITH. Joshua appears to become a widower in 1850 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

Any help or clue would be a real help and blessing.
