I am researching my mother-in-law's family and can't seem to get anywhere. Here's what I have:

Arnold Theodore "Pete" Stamey (born 1932 in Forsyth County, NC) married Ingeburg Marlene Fischer (born 1930 in Germany) while serving in Germany in the US Army. Pete's parents were Theodore Roosevelt and Thelma Sabra Doss Stamey.

Theodore was born 2/22/1906 in Haywood County, NC according to Pete's birth certificate. According to Theodore's granddaughter, he lived in Buncombe county during his childhood, but moved to Forsyth County in his late teens/early 20s.

Theodore's granddaughter remembers Theodore telling her that his father's name was Henry Stamey, that Henry was an old man when Theodore was born, and Henry died only a few years after his son's birth.

The only place I've been able to find Theodore is in the 1930 Forsyth County census and the Social Security Death Index. I can find nothing on his parents or any other ancestors. Can anyone help me?
