I'd appreciate what information you have. I agree with you that Halifax County has been quite a mixture of counties over the years. If you don't mine, I'd appreciate you sending the information directly to my e-mail at southerner15@rocketmail.com. I'd also be willing to pay for copies of documents related to Joshua Wilson and that line.

Thanks for your kind assistance.

I have a little information abt Joshua Wilson from my research. I can not make a connection with him, but there may be, as some of our Wilsons have not been researched. They were basically all over the part of eastern NC which used to comprise early Bertie Co. However the counties moved more then they did.

,Sampson Co.( where our Wilsons went from Halifax)
Estate record of Thomas Wilson dated 15 November 1802. Adm. were James Wilson, William Denning, George Denning and Henry Coor. Buyers at his estate sale were JAMES Wilson, SARAH Wilson (widow), JOSHUA Wilson, MARY Wilson and BENJAMIN Wilson

Then I have a study of Wilsons in the eastern NC area done for a client from Joshua Wilson's family a long time ago, and sent to another Wilson researcher and excerpted and sent to me. This researcher did not prove who was the father of Joshua Wilson, but did draw together a lot of Wilson records that are of use to other Wilson families...

In our family:
William Wilson d. 1745 in Northampton and lived part of the time in what might be Halifax Co.today. His son, by 1st wife Rebecca Braswell Isaac Wilson lived on land devised to him by father, William in Edgecombe, d. in 1779. Not all of Isaac's children have been followed, and so could lead to Joshua Wilson

William Willson also had sons named James and John, neither of whom have been tracked down.

Elisha Moore Willson lived in Halifax from 1771 until abt 1779. He and wife Sarah___migrated to Duplin /Sampson,NC where they raised their family and died. I am lookin for the Surname of Elisha's wife, Sarah, and believe the clue is in the names found on their deeds.

I have lots more Wilson information if you would like.

Marilyn,

I'm wondering if you have any information on Joshua Wilson of Littleton NC? He was my gggrandfather. There was also a Josh Wilson, a banker who lived in Oxford who was a great uncle. Joshua Wilson was the maternal grandfather of my ggrandfather John King who was from Halifax County (Littleton).

Sorry Edward, but I don't have anything. I really have just started with my Wilson line and haven't gotten very far. Please keep me in mind if you find anything though.

Marilyn, I am seeking my g-grandfather, full name was Ezekiel Zachariah Reaves Wilson. Prior to his marrige to Adalne Elam in Louisiana in 1874 - I have no record of him. I do know that he was a railroad man, and died young as a result from falling from a train. He named his only daughter Osceola - the train "Osceola" maybe? Other sons were Colan, James Edward, Martin, Wesley, William Monroe, Oscar and Ira. Wesley left home at an early age and moved to Ohio - I wonder to family there? Any help appreciated so much. thanks, ginny

Hello... I have a Joshua Wilson in my lineage... I would be most interested in the info that you have on him, as I had run into a brick-wall a few years ago with him, and am just getting back around to picking up my research again.

My lineage would go like this....

LaWanda Wilson, daughter of Leondias Sees Wilson, III; son of Leondias Sees Wilson, Jr.; son of Leondias Sees Wilson, Sr.; son of Benjamin Rush Wilson, Sr.; son of Willliam W. Wilson; son of Joshua Wilson.... our family from Leondias Sr. down, lived in Central Florida...Titusville (East Coast) & Zephyrhills (West Coast).... Doc Ben was born in Alabama, and his grandad Joshua was the founding father of "Gainestown", Alabama.

I have very little info about William, Doc Ben's dad and also Joshua... I'd sure love to share more info back and forth if at all possible!

Thanks much for whatever assistance you might be able to provide!

Sincerely,
LaWanda Wilson Cornmesser

I am also a descendent of Joshua Wilson through his son William Wilson. I have some of William Wilson's medical books and some of the James family silver from their plantation Indigo Fields. I have quite a bit of the family history in a book done by a professional geneologist (who was also a member of this quite extensive family.)

E-mail me privately if you have questions I might be able to help you with. I am not a reader of this board normally, but stumbled across your post and your questions while doing some research.
