ABNER PACE (b.abt.1821) was orphaned and apprenticed in Guilford in 1837 to Hiatt & Jean, saddlemakers. We are unable to find his parents' names, and need help.

Abner Pace married JULIA ANN REED (b.1823-25) in Guilford in 1843, and we are unable to find her parents' names.

After their marriage, this couple moved to Rowan Co., where they had one child, JOHN FLETCHER PACE (1844-1901). He married CLARA BELL WILSON in Rowan, and at the death of JFPace, she remarried Rev. HENRY FRANK STARR of Guilford Co., and both died in the 1940s.

One daughter of JFPace was MAGGIE (MARGARET) PACE (b.1874 in Rowan), who married ROBERT L. WOODARD/WOODWARD of Guilford Co., NC, where they raised a family. JULIA ANN REED PACE (widow--above) was living with this family at her death in 1911; she had helped raise MAGGIE PACE WOODARD in Rowan Co., NC. One daughter of the Woodards was a Mrs. Durrell/Derrell, who was an actress who died in Philadelpha PA while with her husband, an actor. Her first name may have been Jennie.
