I am researching the LOMAX family of Guilford County, NC. William LOMAX born about 1700 in England died 1773 in Guilford County. He married Anne Coxe Donnely in Guilford County about 1740. She was a widow from Dublin, Ireland born about 1710. I am descended from their son William Pemlott LOMAX born 14 Feb 1745 Rockingham County, NC. died 2 July 1813, Wilson County, TN. He married an unknown woman before 1772 then Sarah KNIGHT, daughter of Able KNIGHT and Rachel HARE, born 8 August 1749, Guilford County?? I have recently found information saying Rachel was a full blooded Indian?? She died about 1825 in Wilson County, TN?? Possibly living with William Pemlotts family??? I am especially interested in William's son Asahel LOMAX, born 15 Feb 1787, Guilford County. His first wife who was reportedly a Native American, possibly Cherokee or Creek, whose name was BETTY JANE. He married a second woman Lucinda VAN BIBBER, 15 Oct 1848 in Callaway County, MO. I have found no children. He died about 1853 in Callaway County, MO. I have a lot of information and several excellent books on the KNIGHT and LOMAX families.
