SUMMERFIELD— Mr. Moses E. "Lucky" Mabe, Jr., 61, of 7135 Rabbit Hollow Road, died unexpectedly, Sunday, July 20, 2003.
Funeral service for Mr. Mabe will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Brooke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Liberty Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Summerfield, Mr. Mabe was born on Dec. 25, 1941, the son of Moses Essick and Amanda Winters Mabe, Sr.
He was a long-haul truck driver for 30 years. His world revolved around taking care of his family and trucking.
A loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather, Lucky was married to Cyntha Hutcherson on June 17, 1961. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, James Donald Mabe and sister, Wilma Marshall.
Surviving are his wife, Cyntha H. Mabe, of the home; mother, Amanda Winters Mabe of Summerfield; daughter, Tanya Mabe and son, Sean Mabe, both of Greensboro; very special grand-niece, Kim Danaho of the home; sister, Judy Love (Ed) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandson, Tanner Sean Mabe of Greensboro; and special family members, Patty Paige and Leigh Murphy of the home.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Brooke Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
