I think we have corresponded before, but I am searching for the parents of my JULIA ANN REED (b.abt. 1823) who married ABNER PACE (b.1821) in Guilford Co. NC in 1843. Then they moved to Rowan Co., NC. Abner Pace had been an orphan apprentice to Hiatt & Jean, saddlemakers in Guilford (1837). His parents were ALSEY and ZILPHA PACE (nee HALL), married in 1820 in Johnston Co., NC.

I lean toward JAMES REED of Guilford being the father of JULIA ANN REED, but have no proof as yet. I do know that JULIA ANN had a younger sister named M. CATHERINE or MARY/MARGARET CATHERINE REID (illegible census report) who lived with Julia Ann and Abner for a period in Rowan Co., NC. She was about 10 years younger than Julia Ann, thus born 1833-36). I don't know what happened to her.
