Paul, GAston County, North Carolina was named after William Gaston who was a prominent lawyer, politician in the late 1700's. His parents were Margaret Sharp and Alexander Gaston. Alexander was one of 10 siblings who entered the colonies in the 1740's. All were the sons of William Gaston and Mary Olivet Lemon (Lemoir). The Gaston name is well researched.
