Lena Mabe Hodge, 96, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Britthaven of Guilford.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
Lena was born on Jan. 22, 1908, to the late Walter and Cora Cates Mabe in Forsyth County.
She was a member of Sumner Baptist Church and she loved to read her Bible, go to church and listen to gospel music.
Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hodge, sons, James "Lindy" Hodge, Leonard Ray Hodge, daughter, Lois Marie Tolbert, two sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Ann Hodge Vernon, Geri Hodge Prestridge and her husband, Leonard, all of Greensboro; sisters, Violet Walker, Rachel Smith, both of Kernersville, Lorraine Doss of High Point, nine grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
