Died, In Fulton, Davie County, April 28th 1881, Mrs. Sallie E. Hanes, wife of W.P. Hanes Esqr. and daughter of the late Elisha Gibbs, of the county. Mrs. Hames [sic] was born Sept. 15th 1836, was twice married. Her first husband was Col. Joseph B. Jones. She was a model wife and mother, a pure christian and bore her suffering as only a christian can; she was confined to her bed three months. She left five children.
