That should be Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Davidson Co., NC. Here is a web link:

Thank you, but that church is in HIgh Point and is the Missionary Baptist Church, no cemetery. This one is supposed to be in Thomasville and is the "Primitive" Baptist Church Cemetery. I'm pretty sure they are two different locations.
I appreciate your help though.

Any HAMMs buried here? I need help with Jacob Hamm who had land 1700s on Rich Fork of Abbotts Creek. His son Andreas came here to NB,Canada. Can anyone send me a picture of that area today? Anyone know of stories, pictures, other info I can add to my research? Any Hamm living near there now??

I believe these two churches are one in the same. I was unable to find an Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church listed in the Davidson County Churches yellow pages, and Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church does have a cemetery -- I have Teague relatives buried there. They say there is an upper and lower cemetery, so maybe one or the other was the Primitive Baptist cemetery.
I hope I can correctly explain to you where this church is located - it's kind of complicated. It is within a mile of the Forsyth/Davidson/Guilford county lines. It is actually just south of Wallburg, NC in Forsyth County and part of Abbott's Creek Church Road is SR 1743.
You go south on Highway 109 out of Winston-Salem, go through Wallburg, and within 1000 ft. you turn left onto Wallburg-High Point Road. Go past Clodfelter Road and Mock Road on the right side of the road, then go about 3/4 mi. and turn left onto Abbott's Creek Church Road. The church is on the left in about another 3/4 mi., just after you pass Browntown Lane, the cemetery is on the right. (I don't know if this is the upper or lower cemetery.) You can verify this by googling Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church and you will see that it is listed as SR 1743 until you pass Browntown Lane (which maintains the SR 1743 designation) then Abbott's Creek Church Road becomes SR 1733. Just for kicks, I entered Abbott's Creek Primitave Baptist Church into Google and it came up just after you turn onto Browntown Lane.
I hope you come back to this board sometime so you can get this message. It's now Oct. 2009 and you entered your query in July 2006. If you have any more questions, you can e-mail me directly at s_bolling@yahoo.com

Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist and Abbotts Creek Primitive Baptist are two different churches and both have cemeteries. They sit on opposite corners at Browntown Lane.

Yes, I know; but, is Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church still an "active" church?

The other reply is correct. These are two diferrent churches but accross the street from each other. abbottscreek.org website is for the larger church across the street. These churches started together in the 1700's but later split. The primitive baptist church graveyard is the older one and is beind the small primitive baptist church. The old baptism pool is also located in the woods behind the church but it is on private property.

Sylvia, I visited Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery last month. I took lots of photos (mainly of my Bodenhamer & Spurgin ancestors) and wrote down many of the surnames on headstones I could read. Some of those were Green, Motsinger, Idol, Welborn, Robertson, Orrell, Davis, Horney, Chipman, Dowel, Watkins, Meredeth, Swaim, Elliott, Thomas, Thornton, Clinard & Nichols. There were many grave markers that were completely illegible so I cannot definitely say there were no Hamm graves there; but, I did not identify any. I have not been able to survey the Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church cemetery yet...that will have to wait for spring. If I do find any Hamm markers, I will post an e-mail to you.
