Surnames: Clark, Cohoon
I am researching John Clark who lived near Puncheon Creek, east of White Marsh Swamp in the late 1700's and early 1800's. This area was originally part of Bladen County, NC and became Columbus County, NC in 1808.

John Clark is named co-executor of the estate of John Cohoon along with William Cohoon. John Cohoon's will dated 25 Dec 1781 includes a bequest to Penelope Clark.

I believe John Clark had four sons - James, David, William / Wilson Brantley, and possibly John Jr.

The land of John Clark is referenced in land transactions as late as the 1850s.

Any information regarding this family would be very appreciated. I am happy to share the information I have about his sons.

Hi,
Have you found a William S. Clark born obout 1858 died 1924 in your records? His mother's name may have been Jane, I don't know his father's name. William married Sarah Williamson.
Thanks
Tom Duncan
