Chances are good that your BROWNS w/connection to the RI
BROWNS could be kin to my NC BROWNS.
My ggrandmother, CHARITY BROWN (WEELDON) mulatto (Native),
is listed as being born in 1833 NC----------can find no evidence of that.
SHE married my ggrandfather, WM WEELDON (WEEDEN), whose family ties in w/the Wampanoag Indians of RI.
Could SHE have been born in RI?
Would LOVE to hear from anyone researching the same lines.
