Classification: Query
Surnames: Powell, Bullard
I am searching for information on my Bullard and Powell ancestors from Robeson County, NC or Columbus County, NC - Specifically William Bullard and his wife, Susan Powell-Bullard. They were married in 1837 in Robeson County. Their children were: Elseph, born in 1840 and an older brother, Elget. There may have been other children, but I am unaware of them.
As children and young adults, William and Susan may have lived in Columbus County.
I have an original document dated 1844, in which a number of people are selling land in Columbus County, NC to William Bullard and Charles Ivy Jr. The people selling land are: Gilbert Brumble, Rebecca Brumble, Thomas Powell, Nathan Boswell, Rosa Boswell, Ambrose Bullard, Robert Bullard, Restro (sp?) Bullard, Millis Bullard, Dicey Bullard and Zany Bullard.
I believe that the Bullards mentioned are all related in some way.
The document also mentions Thomas Powell Sr, and his wife Rachel. I am guessing that Thomas Powell Sr and Rachel are Susan Powell-Bullard's parents.
The last documentation I have of Susan Powell-Bullard is in the 1880 Robeson County census. She is living with her son Elseph and his family.
Thank you for your help.
