Hello I am looking for the parents of my gr,grandfather Joseph Henry King who moved to Edenton in the 1920's and died around 1940. He was born to a black mother and white father in Bertie, with his mother possibly having the surname Smallwood. He was born possibly in the late 1860s to early 1870's. He was twice married with the first wife being Mollie Collins and the second Hattie Raulhac. His Death certificate could not be located at the Edenton courthouse so any information would be appreciated. His many children include Joe Henry Jr,Willie,William,Mary,Gracie,Lucille,Bertie,Joanna,and Alma.
The family belonged to Kadesh AME Church on east Gale Street there in Edenton.
