Dave,
My Freeman line comes from Rev. Moses FREEMAN through his son, William FREEMAN. William FREEMAN's daughter, Mary FREEMAN, married Richard Henry CORNWELL. Richard and Mary (FREEMAN)CORNWELL lived in Murphy, Cherokee Co., North Carolina. My dad's family lived in Murphy. As a child, I lived in both Cherokee Co. and Swain Co.
I'm delighted to help with Freeman information, because it might result in more information about my own FREEMAN line - you never know what will turn up!
Below is FREEMAN surname information extracted from Volume II. I hope it helps. By the way - do you subscribe to Ancestry.com? If you don't, I'll do a more energetic search in their database- otherwise, I'll leave it to you...
Jean
