I was just looking for Paces in the census reports for Chatham that are on the Chatham Web Site. I found in the 1850 Census (p.354A) a Simeon Pace, age 24, wife Betsey age 18, and an elderly Suzanna Pace age 64. You might want to look into this. They don't appear to be my line of Paces.

I am looking for ALSEY PACE (b.1776) who married ZILPHA HALL (b.1800Chatham) in Johnston Co., NC in 1820. We believe that Alsey was the son of STEPHEN PACE, who was in Chatham in 1794 at least, as he was in the guardian bonds of Chatham in that year (given as guardian of two MAYS orphan girls).
