I do not have any bastardy bonds for this family, but there is a good record of Mary Woody's first child and his father at the Hadley Family site. I have even written to the site owner asking where I might see a copy of the letter naming Joab Hadley as Miller Woody's father, but it seems that no-one knows who actually has the letter. Note that through the censuses, family members have Mary's kids in their homes. This family took care of its own, and there may be no bastardy bonds. As far as I know, Mary's father was Robert Woody and her mother was Sarah "Sally" Henderson. It appears that Robert Woody died in Roane Co TN and Mary was brought/sent back to NC because Sarah could not care for her children. Then Sarah remarried.

I have always thought that Ella Woody belonged to Mary Ann's sister Nancy, but I don't have proof of that.

I live in Michigan! But my grandmother raised her family in Leaksville /Spray and I know just where it is.
