I have been looking over my Family tree and have lots of loose ends, but wish to let you know that I descend directly from Balthazar Huffman's older brother Martin T Huffman. I have had my DNA analized and have 67 markers on file as well as my Haplogroup at family tree DNA. As I understand it if Martin and Balthazar are brothers their Y DNA should be the same or very very close to mine. If you have a known direct male descendant DNA tested it should have the same results. I do not know of any one in my Huffman line that has been tested but me, but results can be kept confidential so I really dont know. So far in 4 years all the hits I have had are from my Mitochondrial DNA.
The inquiries I have had about my Y DNA have been from Europe and America but have been several markers off indicating extremely small chance of close relatives, they also have no names that matches to Huffman. I am no expert in DNA but if you wish to persue this for your genealogical benefit, it may produce some results.
