I am trying to find information on the ROWE family in general and a John ROWE in particular. A county history in Cape Girardeau MO says he came from Lincoln Co, probably the part that is now in Catawba, and settled in MO about 1810. They must have been in TN for a short time on the way. He had a daughter Susan b 1808 and probably other children. Family stories say that he was a drummer in the Rev. War, but I have searched the NC records and the only ROWE drummer I could find was a Jesse in Craven Co. Perhaps he was his father. I found a marriage for a John ROWE to Chloe Speight 20 Sept 1784 in Craven, and a John ROWE who married a Chatrena SEAGLE 21 Aug 1798 in Lincoln. I would appreciate any help I can get on this family.
