Hello,

While going through back issues of the _Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey_, I came across a small article about Azariah Doty who lived in Burke County from 1780-1782, where he served in the Revolutionary War. The article indicates that he was born near Piscataway, NJ in 1745, moved to Virginia ca 1768 where he married Sarah Tucker, then to Burke County, then on to Greene County, TN, where he died in 1851, aged over 106. He lived in the area now known as Newmansville. All in GMNJ 56:48 (Jan. 1981).
