Aaron Smith (bro. of Bacchus Jarrett Smith) is my gr gr gr grandfather. Bacchus and Aaron's brother, Bennett appears to be the first of the family to settle in Texas. In 1869, Bennett and his family moved from Nachadoches, Rusk County, TX to Hill County, TX. Sometime between the 1880 Federal Census and 1894 my gr gr grandfather Samuel Milton Smith moved from AL to Navarro County or Hill County, TX. I am wondering if any other Samuel Smith/ Mary Jarrett children or grandchildren moved to the area. There are some Smiths (Martha (Mattie) E. Smith 12 Feb 1869 - 2 Jan 1944, her son Luther Wilbur Smith 9 Dec 1888- 4 Nov 1976; and William Seth Smith 24 Dec 1895 - 26 Oct 1981 and his wife Ada Margaret Wilson Smith b 15 Feb 1910 - 10 Feb 2003 buried in Lot 12 of Ridge Park Cemetery in Hill County, which is where Samuel Milton Smith and his son and daughter in law are buried and I'm just curious if they are any relation to our Smiths.

I am very interested in learning more about the Smiths - mainly about Samuel Milton Smith, who had atleast four wives. I'm curious about his last years - his move from AL to TX, when did his third wife, Margaret Elizabeth Bramblett Griffin Smith, die? did he really lose an arm in the Civil War? etc.
