In the June 19 , 1900 Tilden is married to a Satlie B. (or Sallie B. ) born Dec 1881 (18 years old ) She was born in South Carolina and so are her parents .It is hard to read on the Spartenburg census . He has been married two years at the age of 21 and has a daughter Nannie May ,by the census she was born May 1898 (she is one year old ) and born in South Carolina . Tilden is a farmer and Sallie is a farm worker. Nannie May is buried by Tilden and Emma , Nannie May born May 11 1899 and died Oct 1, 1985 , buried in Marion ,NC.and she was married to a McKinney .


I think she is married to James Arthur McKinney born May 29, 1906 and died June 6 , 1965 , buried right by with Tilden and Emma


1910 Census Tilden is in Buncombe Co, Black Mountain (Montreat Rd. )
He is married to Emma L. and it said he has been married 7 years and have a daughter Bertha A. .Age 6 years old born Noth Carolina , But it say he was married once , NOT TWICE
He works in the cotton mill and Emma washes clothes .Alza M.Hudgins is living with them , she is 82 years old (Emma grandmother ) and a Widowed , she has had 9 children --3 living .
They live on Montreat RD. , next to John Payne and Marilda Hudgins- Payne .( Emma parents ) there children are
Della 19 , Annie 16 , Elbert W. 14 , Nellie B. 15 Ezmer 5 .
Marilda has had 13 children - 9 living in (1910) John and Marilda and children are living in Hettie E. Cordell house , she is a WD at age 38 . Who is Hettie ???


1920 census
Tilden and Emma are living in Marion N.C. daughters , May age 20 and she is married , Bertha A. age 16 , Della J. age 4 , Minnie F. age 3/12
Tilden is working ? can't read , Bertha and May are spinners , Bertha stop going to school in 4 th grade and went to work .
Bertha married Elmer at age 17 .

1930 census
After Tilden was killed , Emma age 51 widow married at age 24 , moved to Buncombe Co, Swannannoa , she is living with Della age 16 , Minnie Faye age 12 and Bertha age 26 , married at 17 and Elmer Reynolds , age 26 ,married at 17
