Everyone who has posted here has possibly moved on to other interests, but, if not, we have, with almost certainty, proved that the father of the James Alexander who married Rhoda Cunningham was the grandson of the James Alexander who was married to Ann and died in Anson County, NC, in 1753. There is a great deal of circumstantial evidence that James (died 1753) was the father of John and that John had older brothers named William and James and younger siblings named David, Eleanor, and Robert. The weakest link, which is still quite strong, is the identification of John, son of James and Ann, as John, the probable father of James (married Rhoda). YDNA testing of descendants as well as several records binds this family. I'll provide reference to sources if anyone asks.
