I am trying to find a connection to my Chadwick' from NC early 1800's. My GGFather was believed to be John Chadwick brn abt 1820'30's,died after 1860 in GA,may have married a Mary Hodgin,Hodgins brn abt 1831 NC,and she was still living in 1900 Anderson Co TN age 69. Have heard that his name may have been John Riley Chadwick,and was a Mason,and somethimes called Big John the Mountian man. This John Chadwick may have been brn in England,and 1st lived in New Jersey before removing to NC. Did this John met,and marry a Indian lady in NC,and was in GA as of the 1850's. Was this Mary Hodgin? American Indian?. Have heard names mentioned in my Chadwick's who may have a connection.
