I thought you meant by LDS search you had been to a Morman History Center. I have the info you mentioned from Joanne Fairbourne. She does not know where in NC Cannon was born. I also got this information from Gibbs relatives.
I went to my local Morman History Center and they did a search and found nothing on where Cannon Gibbs was born.
We do have William Gibbs in our family.
My father was William Herbert Gibbs Jr.
