Hello fellow Hilburn researchers,

We really need Bladen County Hilburn males to participate in a Hilburn Surname DNA Project to find if there is a link between the Bladen County & adjoining Columbus/Horry County Hilburns (and I know there just has to be one!). After 3 years, we (Columbus/Horry County Hilburns) had our first Hilburn to Hilburn match (actually Hilbun--no "r") with a descendant of Frederick Hilbun (b-1768 NC). Frederick moved west early on and many of his descendants are in Louisiana. My "brick wall" ancestor is Hiniard Hilburn (b-1799, NC). Many of his descendants are in Columbus County, NC & adjoining Horry County, SC.
