I am researching my family tree in Sampson, Bladen, and Cumberland Counties of NC and , recently, my cousin took me to the grave of John Fisher. It is located deep in the woods in Sampson county, near the Cumberland County border and South River. This John Fishers tombstone states *JOHN FISHER * PVT GARRETSON'S CO*NC MIL*WAR OF 1812*1828* It is very faded and barely readable. It seems to be an original marker. Also, not far from this grave, there is a Civil War grave of a Fisher. However, the headstone that was once there has since been moved. I'm looking for the parent's of Ann Fisher. Ann Fisher married Alexander Hall Sr. in Sampson County and they owned land adjacent to the land these tombstones where found. I believe her father may have been Bailey Fisher or Saunders Fisher, but I can't locate any information to determine which one. Does anyone have any information on any of these people. Ann Fisher's name is probably Sarah Ann Fisher born @ 1818. Thanks.
