You may have some problems finding Bastardy Bonds after 1880s. According to one book "North Carolina Bastardy Bonds", it was felt that publishing anything more recent would disturb some of the living relatives.
I did look at this book and another one called "Hidden Ancestors", and both gave dates prior to 1900.
Of course you might find something at the court house, depending on how those records were saved.
