I'm curious about the stories anyone may have of Amer. Indians and Interracial or Mulatto residents of Beaufort during the 1800s. These occurrences are rarely spoken about within the family and documents that list "mulatto" are much too ambiguous.
I would love to better understand the ethnic diversity of the area, especially the Indian residents and relations amongst others. Please share any stories that you may have heard from your parent/grandparents during the 1880s along with the location, if possible.
