My wife descends from Thomas H. Womble. He moved to Claxton, GA, per this quote "Thomas H. Womble who came to Claxton in 1893 from Wadesboro, NC to live near his only brother John. Thomas did not bring his family at the time, they followed and arrived in March 10, 1893." from an old family history.

My wife's grandmother, daughter of TH Womble, claimed their "plantation" farm in White Store area burned, and that's when she moved to GA. I have not spent any time up there researching the case, house fire, etc.

Another Anson researcher suggested I check the NC Archives for the court documents. Since I live in Atlanta GA area, I'll have to submit a request to office or wait on future travels.
