Mr. Jimmy Floyd "Jim"
Wagoner, 78, of Lowgap, NC passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Wagoner was born July 8, 1930, in
Alleghany County, to the late John and Donna Brown
Wagoner.
He worked at
Webb Furniture Company in Galax for 20 years and then worked at Vaughn-Bassett in Mount Airy for 15 years where he retired.
Surviving are his companion of 41 years, Patsy W. Barringer of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda and Gene
Anderson of
Elk Creek, VA, and Debra Stanley and companion, Stanley
Coley, of Wytheville, VA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Lee and Lisa
Wagoner of Wytheville, VA, and Michael
Wagoner of Independence, VA; a stepdaughter, Gloria Kelly of Lambsburg, VA; two stepsons, Carl Mitchell and Eddie
Holbrooks, both of Lowgap; five grandchildren; thirteen stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister,
Sadie Wagoner of Galax, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Herman and Lisa
Edwards and Ann Snow.
In addition to his parents Mr. Wagoner was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wagoner; and his ex-wife, Florence S. Wagoner.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at 11:00 AM at
Moody Funeral Home
Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. J.C. Tolley, the Rev. Jerry King, and Fabron Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the
Liberty Union
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
