I apologize for the delayed response to your email. My life got busy and I stopped digging into the family history for a while. But to answer your question, if I have my facts straight Jonathan S. Marshall was my great, great, great grandfather. I base that on the following:

Jonathan & Nancy (Clemens) Marshall had a son, Alfred James Marshall on 13 August 1868.

Alfred married Aletha McCullom (year unknown) and they had a son, Elvin B. Marshall on 17 Jan 1896.

Elvin "Bossie" Marshall married Nada Palmer (year unknown) and they had a son, Richard Elvin Marshall on 11/12/1919. Richard who went by "Dick" was my grandfather.

I am working (slowly) on getting supporting documentation to back all of this up. I hope this explains the connection.
