SERENDIPITY: On the cover of the Jan-Feb 1990 issue of "The Genealogical Helper" magazine is a charming photo of four generations of a family taken around 1904. The baby in the picture is Elva Bethilda (Crawford) Daley; her great-grandfather, Monmouth Erastus Hart; his daughter Mary Ellen (Hart) Crawford; Mary Ellen (Hart) Crawford's son and father of baby Elva, Stanley Panness Crawford.

Monmouth Erastus Hart was born 15 May 1828 in New Castle, Westchester Co., NY, to Peter Hart and Eleanor (Miller) Platt. He was the second of seven children. Monmouth died 05 Aug 1905 in Brooklyn, King Co., NY

Mary Ellen (Hart) Crawford was born in Brooklyn, King Co., NY, 04 Nov 1854 to Monmouth Erastus Hart and his first wife Mary Esther Mills. Mary Ellen (Hart) married Jonathan Wesley Crawford in Cairo, Greene Co., NY on 08 May 1878. They had six children. They first-born was Stanley Pannes Crawford who was born in Cairo on 06 March 1879. Mary Ellen (Hart) Crawford died 25 March 1928 in Brooklyn, NY,

Stanley Pannes Crawford married Sarah Hulin on 16 April 1902 in Brooklyn, NY, and their first born of three children was Elva Bethilda Crawford. Elva Bethilda was born 05 Aug 1903 in Brooklyn. She married Bernard Daley on 09 Oct 1927 in Brooklyn and was residing in Mount Kisco, NY circa 1990. Stanley Pannes Crawford died 17 April 1953 in Blue Mountain, Ulster Co., NY.
