Mary Winters' application for a widow's pension for her husband's War of 1812 service states that he died at Wicker Island, New York. I've not been able to locate this. He was a "Harl Gate Branch Pilot" which I think means a Hell Gate Branch Pilot - he brought ships into the Port of New York - it would seem.

His name was Isaac Winters, she was Mary Clark, daughter of AAron Clark.
