I was in the NYS Archives today and did some look ups for you.
Mary E. McDonald married William H. Hayes on 1/18/1901 in Rochester, NY. You should be able to get a copy of their marriage license and certificate from the city clerk's office. If not I know you can get a copy from NY State Dept. of Health. NY State charges $22 and would be a photocopy of the original documents. I don't know what Rochester charges and if it would be a copy of the original or a typed transcript.
If you order from NY State - the vital record reference number for this certificate is 1222 for the year 1901.

There were no births registered in 1901 or 1902 for an Albert Hayes, BUT...there is one for a Theodore A. Hayes who was born in Rochester on 7/14/1901, NYS reference number 26318 for the year 1901. All other Hayes births in the area were either females or a Simon S. Hayes, Walter Hayes, or Joseph H. Hayes. I'm betting Theodore A. was Theodore Albert Hayes and he went by his middle name. That was a common practice in the early 1900's.
