I suggest you get their marriage certificate & marriage license. It should have her parents listed on it. I will check the NYS archives vital record database for you today to get the exact place and date. with that info. you can get a copy either from the place (town or city clerk) or from NYS dept. of vital records. I will also look for a birth record for her - the state started keeping copies in 1880, so it might be there, but many home births in the 1880's were never registered, so it is iffy.
