Then what is the purpose of the +/- 1 setting in the search box? That is SUPPOSED to limit the search to a THREE year window (1 year before and 1 year after the specified year).

My experience playing around with the exact box has been fairly negative. Very few times are any results at all produced when the exact box is checked anywhere.

It would be great if Ancestry could cobble together a better search. Maybe they should contract out to Google? I think they know how to do search that works.
