Might be him. I know that after the war (He was in the 2nd Medical Training Regiment, trained troops stateside), he was a butcher until his death in 1968. I guess he met his wife (Catherine Griffiths) sometime between the 1940 and 1950 census. It is rather difficult to trace someone with such a generic name.
