Classification: Query
The 1940 census has allowed me to update & correct many facts of my original enquiry into this family.
Jack & Helen CROWLEY had three daughters, not two:
(1) Mary Ann, born 1929 - PA
(2) Martha, born 1932 - PA
(3) Mildred, born 1936 - PA
The family resided in New York City on West 111st Street during the 1940 census.
The 1940 census also references their 1935 residence as Avonmore, PA, the family probably didn’t leave there until after 1936 when Mildred, the daughter, was born.
The 1930 Census for Avonmore is allegedly incomplete and therefore offered no guidance in my initial inquiry. I only knew this family when they resided in Hastings On Hudson, NY, I would appreciate any response.
This introduces the fact that there were two family members with the name of Martha, in addition to Jack’s daughter, there was also his sister Martha, born 1902 in OH, who in 1940 is listed as an un-married school teacher in Carmel, Putnam County, New York.
