Yes, this was St. Joseph's Home, located just south of the Peekskill train station of Metro North. It existed from about 1880-1950, and was run by the Sisters of St. Francis.
Early on, many of the children came from NYC, by train.
Today, most of the grounds were converted to condos called Riverview. There are a couple of buildings occupied by the Franciscan Sisters, South Street, Peekskill NY 10566. This is the same order of sisters that taught at Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, NY, next to West Point, and Ladycliff High, formerly of Mohegan. Both educational facilites have been closed since about 1980. Transcripts for Ladycliff College alum repose with the Franciscan Sisters here.
School of Lake Mohegan.
