I do have Ancestry.
Where did you find the data in Ancestry? A bunch of what I have seen posted in Ancestry came from my gedcom done perhaps 18 years ago with LDS. That would be any that show gene3@aol.com as the source.
Howard C Bennett is the half brother of my wife's great grandfather George Arthur Bennett. Their father, Henman C. Bennett, was first married to Lucy Layman and George was their only child. After Lucy died, Henman remarried and the rest of his children were with Phoebe Elizabeth Hetherton.

I have several obits for the family plus of those two generations plus alumni history responses for Howard and his brother Charles to Syracuse University. Also bio information on Howard from the Methodist church including the obits for Howard and Leah done by their son H Curtis Bennett Jr.
Howard Jr. and Dorthea were both born in China.

Son and Daughter of Bennetts Win Doctorate Degrees.
Miss Theda E. Bennett and H. Curtis Bennett, Jr., son and daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Howard C. Bennett 312 Marshal St., were granted doctor of Philosopyy degrees this month.
Miss Bennett, who received her degree in zoology at Syracuse University, is on the staff of Roswsell Pardk Memorial Institute, buffalo, engaged in cancer research. The topic of her dissertation was “A Study of Vinyl Testosterone With the Rat, With Particular Reference to the Adrenal function.”
Dr. Bennet was awarded a degree in comparative literature at Harvard University. His thesis topic was “Chronology of Pindar’s Odes.” He sailed last Monday for Europe. He will spend the summer in Paris and Rome. He had previously studied three years in Rome, sudying one year as a Fulbright scholar. He will return in September to resume teaching in the classics department of Tufts College, Medford, Mass.
