I Ismael Reeves of the Town of Lansing and county of Tompkins and State of New York do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following namely I give and devise to my beloved wife all my Real Estate Land and Investment during her natural life and also I will and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Reeve all my personal property during her natural life I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Bashford, ten dollars to be paid in one year after my death. I give and bequeath to my grandson Samual Bashford six dollars last of all I will and devise to my grandson John Bashford all my land and investments after the death of my wife Elizabeth and also all my personal Estate after deducting upkeeping out all debt and funeral charges. I nominate and constitute and appoint my wife Elizabeth, sole executor of this my last will and testament having revoked all other informal wills and testaments by me, made at the time heretofore. Tompkins County: Be it remembered that on the sixth day of September1821, personally seen before me, Edmund G. Patton Surrogate of said County, John Bowker who being duly sworn declared the he saw Ishmael Reeves sign that the within written instrument purporting to be the will of said Ishmael Reeves having a date of the tenth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, I heard him publish and declare the …..his last will and testament and at the time thereof he the said Ishmael Reeves was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that Johnathan Conklin and Eunice Mattison together with the deponent subscribe the said will as witnesses thereto in the Testetors……..And that Elizabeth reeves named in the will likewise appeared before me and was duly qualified to the …execution and performance of the said ….will by taking the usual oath of an Executrix

To all who these…….shall come or may concern…….. now ye, that at, Ithaca in the County of Tompkins on the sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and twenty one, before Edmund G. Patton, Esquire, Surrogate of said county, the last will and testament of Ismael Reeves, late of the town of Lansing in said county deceased, (a copy whereof is submitted ……..) was duly proved and is now approved and allowed of by us. And the said deceased having while he lived and at the time of his death, good chattel or credit.
