Hello Ms. Lombard,
Thomas Sargent Baker is my 7 great-grandfather. It is my understanding that Thomas and Bethia Cook (Cooke) did not have children. A relative stated that the Mayflower folks mentioned this. The source was on Wikitree.com posted 15 Nov. 2014 by Carol Miller
Please understand that I am receiving this information by third party. Is it possible they did have children.
Yet, there was a Mathew Baker born in 1768, either in Rehoboth, Mass. or Stamford, Bennington Co., VT. **Thomas and Bethia Cooke/Cook were married Jan. 16, 1778 in Dighton, Mass. and Mathew was born that same year** Rehoboth, Mass is not far from Dighton, Mass.
I do know that Rachel was Thomas' 2nd wife. She was married to a Joseph Coats. When he died, she married Thomas. Rachel died 14 May 1845 and suposedly buried in Reynoldsville Cemetery in Hector, Tompkins County, NY. I am unable to find it.
Thank you...Sheila Ann Baker Patterson
