My 4xgrandparents John (b. bef 1755, d. aft 1824) and Molly/Polly (b. bef 1755) PEASE settled in Dryden Twnshp Cayuga/Tompkins Co abt 1810. They had children Thaddeus (b. 1780 CT d. 1879 Dryden, wife Electa/Electy), Randall (b. 1783, d. 1835 Steuben Co NY, wife Nancy), Samuel (b. 1794, d. 1837 Dryden), Ira (b. abt 1796, wife Lucy CLAWSON), and Sylvanus (b. 1775, d. 1784, Lasalle Co IL, wife Charlotte TAYLOR). Would be interested to share information with anyone about this family.

Thanks for your reply about Dryden Twnshp. But now I'm more confused. I've visited there several times, and was told at the Historical Society that Dryden Twnshp was split from Cayuga Co when Tompkins Co. was formed in 1817. I've never heard anything about Ulysses Twnshp or Tioga County. Was my info about Cayuga wrong? Thanks again.

Dryden was formed from Ulysses in 1803. One of the 3 towns annexed to Tompkins from Tioga in 1822.More Pease listed in French's Hist Gaz of NY c 1860. a John was one of the first trustees of the City of Troy Rensselaer Co
