I am trying to locate information about my great grandmother and her family. I know her name and the information I recorded from her headstone in Mt. Cavalry Cemetery in Lawrence County, MO. I also have an article which appeared in the Monett Times at the time her death.

Her name and info: Julia Elizabeth Driscoll Wimsatt b. June 15, 1856 in County Cork, Ireland d. Feb. 1, 1911, Monett, Barry County, MO.

The article reads in part:

...At two years of age, she and her mother, brothers and sisters set sail for America, following her father, who came three years before to prepare a home for them.

Landing at New York City, there wer met by their father, who took them to the home six miles from Ithaca, N.Y. were she was reared.

...Many times while working, she studied her Catechism to make her First Holy Communion.

At the age of 16 her father died and she was left to make her living in the world. In a short time, she left for St. Louis.....
