According to 1850 NY census, Samuel DIMICK(E)/DIMMICK, age 42, resided Hector, Tompkins (now Schuyler) Co., with wife, Mary, age 38, and following children: Nelson, age 19, "married within one year" column is checked; Elsey(?), age 17; Adelia, 16; Hannah, 13; Samuel G.(?), 12; unreadable name, begins with /D/, male, age 10; Jefferson, age 8; and Joseph, age 80 - no other surname listed, so presumed Dimmick, perhaps Samuel's father? I am trying to find family of my Nelson DIMMICK/DIMICK, b. ca. 1829, NY, who is known to have had brother named Jefferson (no other info.), & whose father thought to be Samuel. This appears to be probable family, but need more information to be sure. My Nelson married, ca. 1860-68, Rosalie V. GREENE, d/o Dr. Sheffield Wells & Kezia (NOBLE) Greene, who resided @ Friendship, Allegeny Co. Nelson & Rosalie lived Corry, Erie Co., PA & both are buried there.
